Caroline June (Born in July)

It's officially been a year since this little girl joined our family.  I love that we decided on the nickname of Sunshine for her while in utero because Sunshine fits her personality.  She is happy, joyful, silly, fiery-tempered, and irresistible.  We love her to pieces and are beyond grateful of that crazy surprise that led to her life.

Noteworthy facts about Caroline at age 1

• We are waiting for her to walk.  I was convinced that she would be walking by one, but she is happy to motor around at lightning speed on her knees.  She has callouses on them from crawling around outside!  
• Her favorite foods are cheese and bread.  I keep throwing fruits and veggies at her hoping she will be inspired one day.
• She is starting to fight with her sisters.  If something happens that she doesn't like, she stops and starts this scream that I swear could break glass until she gets what she wants. 
• She likes to put objects inside containers.
• She sings!
• She snuggles (with only me right now).  She buries her face into one side of my neck and throws her long, skinny arm around  the other side.
• She bites.  Legs, necks, shoulders...
• She is silly.  She likes to entertain, and if a laugh results from whatever she was doing you can bet she will do it again.
• Animals!  She adores them!  She loves Moxie, cats, birds...  She can throw the ball pretty well for Moxie.
• She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.  Rocks, potting soil, sand, sticks, kitchen floor miscellaneous.  Our joke when she doesn't eat something is that if we throw it on the floor, she will eat it.
• She is a climber which has also shown us that she has a very high pain tolerance.
• She sits on her knees with her feet bent back.  That makes no sense.  See the picture below.  She sits like that all the time! 
• She has a special relationship with Ivy.  They are still on very different levels developmentally, but I catch glimpses of their bond.  For example, when they ride in the double stroller together they usually end up holding hands or touching heads.
• She LOVES Norah.  Norah is the one person that can make her squeal when she sees her.
• So far, she seems to be the opposite in appearance to her sisters.  They are going to be so jealous of her straight, blond hair (and she will probably long for their dark curls).  It's no secret that she looks like her daddy.  Like I've said a hundred times..."she's a gorgeous Jeremy Thompson!"

Seriously.  God does good work.
