Midwest Meanderings

Another couple of months and another major parental right of passage... a plane ride with an 18 month old. 5 hours there and 4 back. As I said, it could have been worse. As Jeremy said, I could have done it with one leg and yes, that would have been far worse. Anyway, we had a great time visiting Jeremy's side of the family in Illinois- most of whom had never met Norah. Most of our time was spent in Rockford and we spent a day in Chicago which is where this picture was taken. We experienced some midwest weather- including a tornado warning that required everyone at Jeremy's cousin's wedding reception to hang out in the restrooms for a little while. Jeremy said that he didn't think the day would ever come when he would be in the same bathroom stall as his grandma. Enjoy the pictures. Here she is trying to steal one of our seats on the airplane...

Kisses for cousin Hannah. They got along great- there was a lot of squealing when they were together and Norah shared willingly- for the first time in her short life- with Hannah.Sporting a lipstick kiss from Grandma Joy.
Norah had Oreos for the first time while we were in Illinois. She had a great time styling Uncle Jeff's hair with the crumbs.
All dressed up. Norah's curly hair was so stinkin' cute in the humidity.
Norah with all of her Thompson cousins. Posing with Uncle Jon.

Grandpa has the touch!

Jeremy with his brothers. I decided to post the nice picture instead of the one with Jeremy singing into a sippy cup.

The Thompson clan...Posing with Uncle JustinSeriously, could I add anything to this picture to make it cuter? She posed for this picture at a Swedish restaurant gift shop.Loved the hotel pool.First time on a bike. Her feet could barely touch the ground, but she was determined.Taking a break with cousin, Hannah. We see looks like this all the time, but have never caught one on camera...First train ride. We rode the train into downtown Chicago. A Beluga Whale at the Shedd Aquarium. You must go if you ever have the chance.Norah checking out the Beluga Whales.

Cheers! Here's to many "kick back" times this summer.

How fun. She is soo cute I can't wait to get together. Maris doesn't have that much hair at all. She looks bald next to Nora. Anyways looks like a fun trip and glad you survived the plan ride...that was probably to real adventure of the trip!
